Hampton Inn-Rocky Mount Named National Lighthouse Award Winner

Hotel Ranked in Top Five Percent of Hampton Hotels in the United States

Hampton Hotels (www.hampton.com), the global brand of more than 1,600 mid-priced Hampton Inns and Hampton Inn & Suites, has honored Hampton Inn-Rocky Mount, located at 530 N. Winstead Avenue, with the company’s Lighthouse Award , designating it as one of the hotel chain’s top performing hotels among the more than 1,600 Hampton properties.

Hampton Inn-Rocky Mount was recognized for its high rankings in overall accommodations, service and quality. The award criteria was based on customer feedback measured through guest satisfaction surveys on the hotel, as well as product quality and service scores measured quarterly by the Hampton Hotel’s brand.

“The competition to be among the elite group of Hampton Lighthouse Award winners was extremely strong this year as the Hampton brand continues to add more hotels and programs to strengthen the guest experience. This makes us especially proud to receive the honor,” said Dick Tharrington, President of First Carolina Management, the hotel’s management company. This recognition is a testament to the fact that our hotel is committed to hospitality in both product and service. Under the leadership of General Manager Inga Turner, the hotel finished the year in the top 5% out of more than 1,600 properties. “We are very pleased to bring this honor to the Rocky Mount area,” said Inga Turner. “Providing exceptional accommodations and outstanding guest service is our number one priority. The hotel has been a past recipient of awards from Hilton, but this is one of the highest honors any Hampton Inn can receive,” said Turner.

The Hampton Inn-Rocky Mount is among only 49 hotels in the entire Hampton brand to receive this award. There are only 4 other hotels in North Carolina receiving this award as well. In March, the hotel will receive special recognition at its annual conference in Dallas, Texas. Hilton WorldWide will be presenting the hotel with a trophy to display in the hotel’s lobby as well as host a special event in their honor in early Spring.

The 124-room Hampton Inn-Rocky Mount is located just minutes from I-95 and US Hwy. 64. Hotel amenities include complimentary On The House Hot Breakfast, On the Run Breakfast Bag, complimentary high-speed Internet access, 32” LCD high-definition flat screen TV’s, microwave and refrigerator in every room, fitness center, on-site meeting facilities, outdoor pool, whirlpool, weekly manager’s reception, and restaurant shuttle service.
